Speaking of interesting - a thread popped up on Reddit earlier this year suggesting that there were far too many Mattress Firm locations around the country and the only possible reason for their continued presence was “money laundering”.

Mattress Firm, the largest specialty retailer of its kind has been caught napping, to be perfectly blunt.

Internet-based competitors have been nipping at its heels for a while now, but the battle is definitely getting more interesting.

Speaking of interesting - a thread popped up on Reddit earlier this year suggesting that there were far too many Mattress Firm locations around the country and the only possible reason for their continued presence was “money laundering”.

Seriously. I kid you not.

Of course that thread was pulled, but the company’s behavior remains suspect.

A much more likely possibility is that Mattress Firm and its new owners greatly overestimated their abilities.
