Powerpoint Nation

Somehow I've made it through most of my adult life without learning (or relying on) PowerPoint -- or similar software. I always try to focus on getting people to actually come to a decision rather than just trying to give them raw data in the form of bullet points.

To me, it's kind of a "persuading versus informing" kind of thing. Of course, there are always those few folks who need reams of data to reach a conclusion, but there are far more people who feel the need for reams of data yet still cannot not make up their minds.

Anyway, I've been looking into the "Lessig-Takahashi" style pioneered by Lawrence Lessig and that I found so compelling in the on-line

presentation by Dick Hardt of Sxip.

It's harder than it looks, but I think the results will definitely be worth the trouble.

Here's an interview with Cliff Atkinson –  who wrote the book on PowerPoint and Seth Godin one of the best communicators today.

Enjoy.
